CFPB Updates Summary of Rights, etc, Again

Effective January 1, 2013, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has made updates to three items that the Federal Trade Commission previously created under the Fair Credit Reporting Act: the Summary of Rights, the Obligations of Users and the Obligations of Furnishers. These items have changed since our last communication in October.

The Summary of Rights, available at http://www.backgroundbiz.com/docs/Summary-of-Rights.pdf, is the document that explains to individuals what their rights are under the FCRA.

The Obligations of Users, available at http://www.backgroundbiz.com/docs/Obligations-of-Users.pdf, details what your obligations are as the company that ordered a background check, including having permissible purpose, sending Adverse Action notifications, etc.

The Obligations of Furnishers, available at http://www.backgroundbiz.com/docs/Obligations-of-Furnishers.pdf, details the obligations of CRAs like backgroundchecks.com to our clients and their applicants.
