Governor John Hickenlooper signed House Bill 1114, which repeals Colorado employment verification law § 8-2-122, C.R.S. The verification law had required an employer to verify that they had not knowingly hired an unauthorized alien. Beginning August 10, 2016, Colorado employers are no longer required to complete and maintain an employment verification affirmation.
The bill also amends Section 8-2-122 by eliminating the $5,000 - $25,000 penalty provisions.
