February 27th, 2018
The current social media law prohibits employers from requiring, requesting, or suggesting an employee or prospective employee to disclose their user name or password to their social media account or change their privacy setting associated with their accounts.
“An employer shall not require a current or prospective employee to add another employee, supervisor, or administrator to the list or contacts associated with his or her social media account.”
This update applies to all employers in Arkansas.
Arkansas made it illegal for employers to require a current or prospective employee to add them (employer) or the administrator to the employees’ list or contacts associated with their social media account.
