This is the quickest option. You can immediately enter the candidate's information after you have chosen a product or a package.
The 'Basic' Package is our instant option. It instantly searches our database of over 650 Million criminal conviction records, 20 million photos, 50 state offender registeries, and 100+ National & International Security Sources such as Terrorist Watch lists and OFAC.
An instant search takes just a few minutes. After you enter the applicant's information you will be asked to register. Registration is required because the FCRA requires us to confirm your legitimacy and purpose for using our services. Credentialing also helps to eliminate exposure of your company, your employees, and your prospective applicants.
The instant search option only costs $29.95 + a one time only account setup fee. This is our new reduced fee.

backgroundchecks.com offers you the #1 criminal conviction database in the industry*. The results are returned instantly, unless the order contains a request to verify mathcing records with the source before reporting them.
*Because California, Connecticut, Maine, Minnesota and Indiana currently require us to verify criminal matches found during our instant search directly at the source before reporting them, we are prevented from providing criminal records instantly in these five states.

This is the recommended path if you have multiple background checks to order. You register for an account first and then you can securely start ordering the background checks.

With our self-order functionality you can delegate some of the background screening process to your new hire, making the hiring process easier than ever.

Select the type of background check you want to invite the applicant to complete.
Each applicant can be individually invited with a personal email sent from our system. Alternatively, our system can generate a hyperlink for you to communicate in other media like your website, a new hire leaflet or in an email sent our by your system.

Self service means no need to collect and store personal information.
Send to individual subjects or create a reusable URL for all prospects to use.
Enable subjects to pay for background checks. Our system will override if local law makes that illegal.
Our system ensures that all required documents are sent and received by the candidate. More importantly, we collect these documents and electronic consent forms as proof of your company's compliance.
All self service forms are mobile optimized. This makes the background check process easier for people to perform and reduces overall turnaround time.
The applicant can enter the required vital information, like full name, date of birth, SSN, address, etc. Because the applicant knows this information, he or she is less likely to make a simple transcription error (like inverting some digits in the date of birth). Alternatively, you can continue to enter those details - whichever is most convenient for you.
Applicants can sign the FCRA-required authorizations and sign for having received the disclosures right in the system. More importantly, we store these electronic consent forms as proof of your company's compliance.
The new applicant entry capability has been designed to prompt your hire to pay for the report by credit card or allow you to continue to pay for the report using your existing stored payment method. Regardless of which you choose the applicants will still be required to run the report that you have pre-selected for them.
